Hand Embroidered Silk Blouse

This saree is one of my favorite color, but I was not happy with the blouse piece that came attached with it. It was a bright green color which kept me away from wearing the saree. So I decided to calm down the color by doing some embroidery. When I went to the thread shop, accidentally, I laid eyes on these metallic thread collection from anchor. I picked up peacock green thread for the leaves and golden color thread for the flowers. First, I gave the blouse material to my tailor and got the sleeves and body part marked, then I traced the embroidery design on it and then started embroidering the piece. I have used satin stitch for the flowers and leaves and stem stitch for the stems

It took quite some time to complete the embroidery, but I was pleased with the end result. Then I gave it to my tailor for stitching. And now when I wear it, people ask me where I got it embroidered. Do I need a better compliment :-) ? Needless to say, I feel very happy in saying "I did it myself" :-)

Quilling Mania

I did this greeting card about 4 years back for my nephew's wedding. Looking at it, you can find out that it was my first attempt at quilling. And then I developed a mania for quilling and did some miniatures.

Wavy Shell Blanket

I made this crochet blanket for my Sister-in-law's baby. I wanted to try a different pattern this time and was impressed by a this pattern that I came across, while browsing. Initially I decided to complete the blanket with alternate white and blue waves. But I was not sure if the blue yarn supply that I had, would  last for the entire blanket. So I decided to crochet the center part with white color and continue alternating the colors for the remaining blanket.

After completing the blanket, I felt that the white part was too blank. So decided on making  a teddy bear applique following this pattern.

Crochet Blanket - Diagonal stitch

This is a blanket I made for my cousin's son.  I decided on the diagonal pattern and the color of the yarns and started off with the project.

As always with any crochet project, my yarn got over while I was half way and I had to buy them again. But I couldn't get the same color yarn ( both grey and orange ). Only a darker shade of grey was available. So I changed the pattern and continued with the grey color all the way to the end. The result is what you see here.

To match the colors, I made a elephant head and attached to one end of the blanket.

And made 3 circles with orange color and attached them to the other end of the blanket.
